Queensland will defend its 2020 Australian U-16 Youth Championship title on home soil after the host for the event’s return to the calendar was locked in on Thursday.
Redcliffe, north-east of Brisbane, will host the 2022 tournament during the July school holidays in partnership with the Moreton Bay Regional Council.

Eleven members of Victoria’s 2019 Australian Women’s Baseball Championship gold medal run have been named to the state’s roster for this April’s event at West Beach in South Australia.
The 2019 Most Valuable Player Abbey Kelly, Batting Award recipient Abbey McLellan and Pitching Award winner Morgan Doty will return to defend Victoria’s crown at the April 15-21 event.

Greater Brisbane League leading Redlands Rays extended their winning streak to seven games with a 13-3 victory over Surfers Paradise on Sunday.
The Rays jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first and did not look back at Sir Bruce Small Park, improving their record on the season to 22-6.

Berwick City Cougars denied a late rally from Cheltenham Rustlers to secure their eighth win of the Victorian Summer Baseball League season on Sunday.
The Cougars got another strong start from Craig Barnett but were forced to hang on for a 6-4 win at Kingston Heath Reserve after the Rustlers scored four times in the bottom of the eighth.

Greater Western Warriors collected their first win of the 2021/22 New South Wales State Baseball League season on Sunday after overcoming Cronulla Sharks in a thriller at Andrews Road Complex.
The Warriors scored two seventh-inning runs and Cameron Baird and Thomas Fester combined to keep the Sharks’ bats quiet in a 2-1 win.

Team Australia Futures’ bats carried their hot finish to Friday night’s game into Saturday’s series finale against the Adelaide Giants to set up an 11-5 win.
The Futures team scored 11 runs across the second and third innings, after scoring five in the eighth on Friday night to fall just short of a thrilling comeback win, to split the two-game series at West Beach.

Pine Rivers Rapids have replaced Pine Hills Lightning in second spot on the Greater Brisbane League standings after an emphatic win in their Friday night matchup.
The Rapids rode regular offence and strong pitching from Dallas Wakefield to a 14-0 shutout win at James Drysdale Reserve to improve to 19-7 on the season.

Team Australia Futures launched a stunning late comeback but fell just short of a thrilling win in the opener of its two-game series against the Adelaide Giants on Friday night.
Down 6-0, the Futures team scored five runs in the top of the eighth to set up a thrilling finish but they were unable to get any closer than the 6-5 final at West Beach.

Baseball Australia today confirmed it had made the difficult decision to find a new host for the May 13-17 event, which was slated to be held in Mandurah at Lakelands Park.
