Host, dates announced for 2021 Australian Women's Championship

Adelaide will host the Australian Women’s Baseball Championship in 2021, for the first time since the tournament’s inception.

West Beach, in the city’s western suburbs, will hold the event from April 2-9.

Chargeball will become the official umpire partner of Baseball Australia under a new partnership.

Australian owned and operated Chargeball™ will back the umpiring division for at least the next 12 months.

Giants stay perfect in NSW Women's League

Greenway used a five-run third to break open its NSW Women’s Baseball League clash against Macarthur on Saturday before winning 11-2.

The teams traded early blows before the Giants pulled away with nine unanswered runs at Gilchrist Oval improving to 5-0.

Clark, Schmidt star for Braves in WA State League 1

Kevin Clark drove in three runs and Daniel Schmidt allowed one run in seven impressive innings to lead Braves to a 5-1 win over Morley in the WA State League 1 on Sunday.

Clark delivered a two-run single in the third and drove in another run in the fifth after Kieran Chapman had homered to pull the Eagles within two runs at Winnacott Reserve.

Late show lifts Rays over Carina in GBL

Redlands used eight late runs to see off Carina 11-4 in the Greater Brisbane League on Sunday to keep pace with a pack emerging at the top end of the standings.

The Rays fell behind in the top of the seventh but used a three-run bottom of the inning to take the lead before adding insurance with five runs in the eighth as they improved to 10-3.

Workers snap five-game NSWSBL skid with walk-off win

Blacktown put an end to its five-game New South Wales State Baseball League losing streak with a walk-off 5-4 win over Macarthur at Laybutt Reserve on Sunday.

A groundball from James Yates levelled the score in the bottom of the ninth ahead of Josh Strong’s sacrifice fly bringing home Luke Passmore (walk) to return Workers to the winners’ list.

Martin gem helps Vic Park/Belmont level WASL1 record

Victoria Park/Belmont moved back to .500 in the WA State League 1 on Friday night, riding seven shutout innings from Matthew Martin to victory against South Perth.

Martin struck out seven, allowed two hits and surrendered only two walks in a 98-pitch shutout as the Reds prevailed 1-0 at Perth Harley-Davidson Ballpark.

Padres Grey break away late in GBL win over Cubs

Redcliffe Grey piled on five runs in the eighth to break a tie and overcome Coomera at Talobilla Park in Friday night’s Greater Brisbane League action.

The Padres prevailed 8-3 over the Cubs after hitting the front on Eddie Crotty’s RBI-single and adding to their lead when Lachlan Wilson (single) and Kane Swanson (double) each drove in two runs.

Aussie added to 40-man MLB roster

New South Welshman Alexander Wells has this morning been added to Baltimore’s 40-man MLB roster.

Wells, 23, is the No. 19 prospect in the Orioles system according to MLB Pipeline and would have been Rule 5 Draft eligible next month if Baltimore did not add him to the 40-man list.

ABL reveals revised schedule, headlined by massive January

The Australian Baseball League’s revised schedule for the 2020/21 season will see games played on 26 out of 31 days in January.

Two week-long hubs – one in Adelaide, the other in Brisbane – headline a busy month to start 2021 and give baseball starved fans a stack of action.

Adelaide set to host ABL hub, women's showcase games

Adelaide will host 12 Australian Baseball League games across seven days in January as part of a hub set to be revealed in the revised schedule later today.

Brisbane, Canberra and Perth will join hosts Adelaide in an international broadcast-friendly four-team hub at West Beach from January 14-20 under a partnership with the South Australian Government.
