Eagles soar past Cubs in WASL1 semi-final opener

An eight-run fourth propelled Morley Eagles to within a win of the 2022 WA State League 1 grand final on Tuesday night.

The defending champions overturned an early deficit with the big inning on their way to an 11-1 win over South Perth Cubs in game one of their semi-final series at Empire Ballpark.

Saints punch ticket to SA Women's League decider

Sturt Saints are first through to the March 27 South Australian Women’s Baseball League grand final following a qualifying final win over Southern Districts Hawks on Sunday.

The Saints scored the opening six runs of the contest at Norman Reserve and denied a late comeback bid from the Hawks to secure a 10-3 win.

Hawks punch ticket to SASL finals

Southern Districts Hawks are off to the South Australian State League finals for the first time in 12 years after taking care of Northern Districts Reds in the final round of the regular season on Saturday.

The Hawks prevailed 3-0 at Peregrine Park to take care of the job themselves and not have to rely on results elsewhere.

Bombers, Tigers enter VSBL finals on long streaks

Essendon Bombers and Upwey-Ferntree Gully Tigers will enter the Victorian Summer Baseball League finals on a high after extending their long winning streaks on Saturday.

The Bombers downed Berwick City Cougars 12-2 on the road to notch a sixth-straight win while the Tigers extended their winning streak to eight games to finish atop the Eastern Conference.

Power dominates in longest college outing

West Australian Jordan Power tossed a career-high eight innings to help Toledo Rockets to a 4-2 win over Akron Zips in game one of a doubleheader at Skeeles Field in Ohio on Tuesday morning.

The Carine Cats product struck out an equal career-high seven batters and allowed just one run – unearned – on five hits.

Kookaburras extend NSWSBL winning streak

First-placed Baulkham Hills Kookaburras extended their New South Wales State Baseball League winning streak to four games on Sunday as the competition made its return following a run of wash outs in recent weeks.

James McCallum went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs and four pitchers combined to allow one run on five hits as the Kookaburras completed a 7-1 win over Canterbury Bankstown Vikings at Northmead Reserve.

Cubs advance to WASL1 semi against Eagles

South Perth Cubs will face WA State League 1 minor premiers Morley Eagles in a best-of-three semi-final series from Tuesday night.

The Cubs punched their ticket to the final four – and matchup against the Eagles – with a 7-2 elimination final win over Victoria Park/Belmont Reds at Empire Ballpark on Saturday night.

FNCBA launch fundraiser as post-flood recovery begins

Far North Coast Baseball Association has launched a GoFundMe as it sets sights on getting back on the field as soon as possible following last week’s catastrophic flooding.

Lismore – and FNCBA’s Albert Park home of 56 years – were inundated with water as more than 700mm fell in less than 30 hours in the region’s biggest flood event since 1954.

Rapids extend GBL winning run to 13 games

Pine Rivers Rapids continued their unbeaten start to 2022 and extended their Greater Brisbane League winning streak to 13 games on Thursday night.

Catcher Cain McClelland drove in four runs and starter Josh Roberts went seven innings, allowing just one run, as the Rapids took down Surfers Paradise 15-1 at Beenleigh.

The 2022 Major League Baseball regular season is set to start on April 7.

Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association reached an agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement earlier today.

Niit, homers lift Rays over Royals in GBL

Rhys Niit struck out 14 in six innings and Tyson Zamora and Jaime Fox went deep as Redlands Rays topped Windsor Royals in the first Greater Brisbane League game in almost a fortnight on Tuesday night.

Niit did not allow an earned run in six innings and Justin Erasmus slammed the door shut with three strikeouts in two innings as the ladder-leaders triumphed 8-2 at Holloway Field.
