Glenelg Tigers secured back-to-back South Australian Women’s League premierships on Sunday following a thrilling extra-innings win over Sturt Saints.
The Tigers scored four runs in the top of the ninth and limited the Saints to just two in response to seal a 7-5 grand final win at Norman Reserve.

Bianca Smith tossed a gem and Glenelg Tigers scored seven early runs to seal their spot in the 2022 South Australian Women’s League grand final on Sunday.
Smith struck out five in six two-hit innings to help the Tigers overcome Southern Districts Hawks 7-0 and set up a grand final against Sturt Saints next weekend.

Sturt Saints are first through to the March 27 South Australian Women’s Baseball League grand final following a qualifying final win over Southern Districts Hawks on Sunday.
The Saints scored the opening six runs of the contest at Norman Reserve and denied a late comeback bid from the Hawks to secure a 10-3 win.

South Australian Women’s League minor premiers Sturt Saints closed out the regular-season with a 10-4 win over Southern Districts Hawks at Peregrine Park on Sunday in a qualifying final preview.
Georgia Davis and Claire Warburton drove in two runs each and Gemma Letton struck out five in a pair of scoreless relief innings as the Saints finished the regular campaign with a 15-1 record.

Woodville Senators have snapped their nine-game losing streak with a 12-3 victory over East Torrens Redsox in South Australian Women’s League action on Sunday.
Senators starter Darna Veer turned in an excellent performance on the mound allowing just two unearned runs in four innings as Woodville claimed a victory.

Southern Districts Hawks have continued their push towards a finals berth after claiming a 9-5 victory over Woodville Senators in South Australian Women’s League action on Sunday.
A five run third inning was the catalyst for the Hawks who overcame an early deficit to claim their fourth win of the season.

Glenelg Tigers returned to the winners list with a resounding 20-4 victory over East Torrens Redsox in South Australian Women’s League action on Sunday afternoon.
Eight players had RBIs for Glenelg who scored five runs in each of the first four innings on route to their big victory.

Sturt Saints have held off a comeback from Glenelg Tigers to claim an 11-9 victory in South Australian Women’s League action on Sunday afternoon at Anderson Reserve.
The clash between the undefeated Saints and reigning premier Tigers lived up to the billing with a late Glenelg comeback falling short in the final inning.

The rosters for next week’s 2021 South Australian Women’s Baseball All-Star game have been announced.
Two teams of 12 players have been selected for the match-up which will be held in conjunction with the Super League Baseball All-Starts taking on the Adelaide Giants at West Beach next Wednesday.

Southern Districts Hawks survived a late fightback from East Torrens Redsox to claim a 9-7 victory in South Australian Women’s League action on Sunday afternoon.
The Hawks seemed destined for a comfortable afternoon after taking 8-1 into the bottom of the third inning before the Redsox rallied back into the contest.

East Torrens loaded the bases and drew three walks to make it an 8-4 game before Southern Districts added an insurance run on Abi Jorgensen’s hard ground ball in the fourth.
The Redsox rallied again in the bottom half scoring runs on an Ashley Ng walk and an Ella Forrester RBI single cutting it to a 9-6 game.
The home side got the tying run to the plate but Kira O’Brien was able to seal the win for the Hawks.
Ellie Tucker had a team high three RBI for Southern Districts.
In Sunday’s other clash, top of the table Sturt Saints continued their unbeaten run with an 18-3 win over Woodville Senators at Don Klaebe Field.
The Saints flexed their muscle early scoring five runs in the first including a two-run triple by Julie Wadham.
Sturt added four more runs in the second and then a further five in the third including an RBI single by Lucy Davis.
The SA Women’s League continues on Sunday with undefeated Sturt taking on reigning premiers Glenelg Tigers in a big clash.
