Cubs advance to WASL1 semi against Eagles

South Perth Cubs will face WA State League 1 minor premiers Morley Eagles in a best-of-three semi-final series from Tuesday night.

The Cubs punched their ticket to the final four – and matchup against the Eagles – with a 7-2 elimination final win over Victoria Park/Belmont Reds at Empire Ballpark on Saturday night.

FNCBA launch fundraiser as post-flood recovery begins

Far North Coast Baseball Association has launched a GoFundMe as it sets sights on getting back on the field as soon as possible following last week’s catastrophic flooding.

Lismore – and FNCBA’s Albert Park home of 56 years – were inundated with water as more than 700mm fell in less than 30 hours in the region’s biggest flood event since 1954.

Rapids extend GBL winning run to 13 games

Pine Rivers Rapids continued their unbeaten start to 2022 and extended their Greater Brisbane League winning streak to 13 games on Thursday night.

Catcher Cain McClelland drove in four runs and starter Josh Roberts went seven innings, allowing just one run, as the Rapids took down Surfers Paradise 15-1 at Beenleigh.

The 2022 Major League Baseball regular season is set to start on April 7.

Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association reached an agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement earlier today.

Niit, homers lift Rays over Royals in GBL

Rhys Niit struck out 14 in six innings and Tyson Zamora and Jaime Fox went deep as Redlands Rays topped Windsor Royals in the first Greater Brisbane League game in almost a fortnight on Tuesday night.

Niit did not allow an earned run in six innings and Justin Erasmus slammed the door shut with three strikeouts in two innings as the ladder-leaders triumphed 8-2 at Holloway Field.

Race for sixth spot to go down to final day of SASL season

The race for the last remaining spot in the South Australian State League final series will down down to the final day of the regular-season after Tuesday night’s results failed to declare a winner.

But the race is down to two teams – East Torrens Redsox and Southern Districts Hawks – after Glenelg Tigers and Woodville Senators fell to defeat to crush their slim top-six hopes.

Baycats top Eagles, book VSBL finals berth

Geelong Baycats punched their Victorian Summer Baseball League finals ticket with a 7-2 win over Sunshine Eagles at Melbourne Ballpark on Tuesday night.

The Baycats overturned an early 2-0 deficit to wrap up a sweep of the three-game season series between the two sides and end the Eagles’ hopes of finishing in the Western Conference top-two.

Mrakovcic named Region IX Pitcher of the Week

New South Welshman Max Mrakovcic has been named the Region IX Pitcher of the Week for February 28 to March 6.

The McCook Community College right-hander tossed a complete game on Saturday (Australian time) as the Indians opened their four-game set against Trinidad State College with a 2-1 win.

Saints finish SA Women's League regular-season on high

South Australian Women’s League minor premiers Sturt Saints closed out the regular-season with a 10-4 win over Southern Districts Hawks at Peregrine Park on Sunday in a qualifying final preview.

Georgia Davis and Claire Warburton drove in two runs each and Gemma Letton struck out five in a pair of scoreless relief innings as the Saints finished the regular campaign with a 15-1 record.

WASL1 frontrunners extend winning streaks

WA State League 1 frontrunners Morley Eagles and Wanneroo Giants extended their winning streaks to five games over the weekend as they prepare for a possible grand final preview to close out the regular-season.

The Eagles took two-from-two away to Gosnells Hawks while the Giants completed a pair of shutout wins over Victoria Park/Belmont Reds at Forster Park on Sunday.

Redsox jump into SASL top-six

East Torrens Redsox have replaced Southern Districts Hawks in the South Australian top-six heading into the final two games of the regular-season.

The Redsox topped Port Adelaide Magpies 5-1 at Patterson Reserve to record a fourth win in their past five games and move into the last remaining finals spot.
