Baseball Western Australia’s board has made the decision to cease all baseball activity in the state until further notice in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement released on Wednesday afternoon Baseball WA said it had “adopted further changes to upcoming baseball activities and events to comply with government mandates surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and prioritise the health and safety of the community”.

Baseball Queensland, Baseball Victoria, Baseball Canberra and Baseball Northern Territory have announced the postponement of all baseball activity for at least the next 21 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The three governing bodies earlier today announced they and their member clubs and associations would cease all activity for 21 days.

School Sport Australia has announced the 2020 18 Years & Under Baseball Championship has been cancelled due to COVID-19.
The championship was set to take place in Lismore from April 26 to May 2 but School Sport Australia confirmed yesterday the event was one of five to be held between now and May that had been cancelled.

The 2020 Australian Women’s and Youth Women’s Baseball Championships have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Baseball Australia, in consultation with key stakeholders and based on advice from the government, today confirmed they have decided to postpone the dual-tournament slated for Canberra from April 10-17.

Major League Baseball’s opening day has been pushed back even further following recommendations of a US-wide halt of any gatherings consisting of more than 50 people for the next eight weeks in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
Opening Day, which was originally scheduled for Thursday, March 26, had already been postponed for two weeks as of last Thursday.

The Orioles prevailed 4-1 over Ryde at Blacktown International Sportspark behind a dominant nine-inning display from Fogorty.

Blackburn has secured back-to-back Victorian Summer Baseball League premierships after downing Sunshine 2-1 in the best-of-three 2020 grand final series.
