Australia’s four 2020 Little League national tournaments have been cancelled.

Baseball Australia today confirmed the 2020 Little League, Intermediate League, Junior League and Senior League national tournaments would not go ahead due to the impact of COVID-19 restrictions.

Australia’s four 2020 Little League national championships have been postponed following the introduction of further restrictions to slow the spread of coronavirus over the weekend.

Baseball Australia made the decision to postpone the Little League, Intermediate League, Junior League and Senior League national championships after the Federal Government yesterday announced restrictions on non-essential interstate travel would be implemented.

The 2020 Australian Women’s and Youth Women’s Baseball Championships have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Baseball Australia, in consultation with key stakeholders and based on advice from the government, today confirmed they have decided to postpone the dual-tournament slated for Canberra from April 10-17.

Baseball Australia events and competitions manager Sharon Butty has been named as the region’s new Little League District Administrator.

Butty will act as the liaison between Little League headquarters and the Australia region.

The 2020 Australian Little League calendar will start with Junior League in Adelaide and end with the Little League champion being crowned on the Queen’s Birthday public holiday in Lismore.

Baseball Australia has today confirmed the calendar for next year, which will see a rejig of the 2019 calendar with the Little League gold medal game on June 8 reinstated as the final game.
