A Women’s Showcase featuring the country’s top female players will be held in early 2021.
Baseball Australia chief executive Cam Vale earlier today informed donors to A League of Her Own of the four-game Showcase, which will be broadcast and played as doubleheaders at two venues.

Sam Kennelly will add to his 174 Australian Baseball League regular-season games with Perth in 2020/21 after re-signing with the Heat.
The 24-year-old infielder averaged .238 with three homers and seven RBIs in 19 games last season.

Community sport – including games and training – will be temporarily cancelled in South Australia after the state government today reintroduced COVID-19 restrictions.
Premier Steven Marshall this afternoon announced a number of measures including calling off all community sport across the state from midnight following an outbreak of 17 cases in the northern suburbs.

The Lightning broke a tie with a seven-run fifth before going on to win their ninth game in 11 and leapfrog Redlands into second spot on the standings.

The Orioles plated five runs in the top of the eighth in a 7-4 win at Aquatic Reserve to bring their record level at .500.

Infielder Jarryd Dale and right-handed pitcher Jack Enciondo will be part of Melbourne’s title defence after re-signing for the 2020/21 Australian Baseball League season.
Dale, a 20-year-old San Diego prospect, has made 127 ABL appearances with the Aces and last summer hit .196 with three RBIs in 32 regular-season games.

Redlands flexed its muscle to take down Greater Brisbane League leaders Redcliffe Red 15-4 in a top-of-the-table clash on Friday night.
The Rays scored five times in the second and third to jump out to a 10-1 lead and never looked back at Talobilla Park as they improved to 8-2, just half-a-game back from Padres Red.

Matteo Pizziconi’s seven-inning shutout helped Perth overcome Gosnells 1-0 at Perth Harley-Davidson Ballpark in Wednesday night’s WA State League 1 action.
Pizziconi struck out five and allowed five hits and two walks across a strong outing after being handed a first-inning lead.

Three homers helped Southern Seahawks maintain their perfect Super League Baseball Adelaide record at West Beach on Wednesday night.
Riley Moore and Jordan McArdle went deep back-to-back and Jeremy Cresswell also homered as Southern improved to 5-0 with a 6-4 win over the Northern Marlins.
