Heat secure Saupold for 2020/21 season

Warwick Saupold will return to Perth – and the Australian Baseball League – this season.

The right-handed pitcher has not played with the Heat since January 2018 after spending the past two seasons playing in South Korea with Hanwha.

Aussie Pittsburgh prospect links up with Bandits

Pittsburgh prospect Brandan Bidois will front for Brisbane during the 2020/21 Australian Baseball League season.

The 19-year-old Queenslander made his ABL debut with the Bandits as an infielder two seasons ago but since signed with the Pirates as a pitcher following a strong showing at the 2019 WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup for Boral Team Australia.

Veteran lefty set for 11th season with Heat

Modern-day Australian Baseball League wins leader Daniel Schmidt will front for an 11th season with Perth, the club announced on social media on Thursday night.

Schmidt took sole lead of the category last season from former Sydney pitcher Craig Anderson and collected three wins in total, taking his tally to 38.

Kennelly to link up with Heat in 2020/21

Sam Kennelly will add to his 174 Australian Baseball League regular-season games with Perth in 2020/21 after re-signing with the Heat.

The 24-year-old infielder averaged .238 with three homers and seven RBIs in 19 games last season.

Local duo re-sign with Aces

Infielder Jarryd Dale and right-handed pitcher Jack Enciondo will be part of Melbourne’s title defence after re-signing for the 2020/21 Australian Baseball League season.

Dale, a 20-year-old San Diego prospect, has made 127 ABL appearances with the Aces and last summer hit .196 with three RBIs in 32 regular-season games.

Aces lock in Royals' Aussie pitching prospect

Kansas City pitching prospect Mitch Ellis will return for a second Australian Baseball League season with Melbourne.

Ellis joined the Aces last season after a campaign with Brisbane and was signed by the Royals in January as a pitcher.

Bandits re-sign utility Dutton

Utility Wade Dutton has signed on for another Australian Baseball League season with Brisbane.

The three-time ABL championship winner will be fronting for a fifth-straight season with the Bandits and seventh overall.

Infielder Warner returns for Cavalry

Infielder Cam Warner will return for a fourth Australian Baseball League season with Canberra aiming to build on an impressive 2019/20 campaign.

The 26-year-old’s 43 hits for the Cavalry last season were second only to Zach Wilson.

Timms set for seventh season with Bandits

Veteran reliever Matt Timms will return for a seventh Australian Baseball League season with Brisbane.

Timms, 33, ranks seventh in the relaunched league with 115 regular-season appearances.

Warner returns for third season with Cavs

Josh Warner will return for a third Australian Baseball League season with Canberra and seventh overall, the Cavalry announced today.

The 28-year-old right-hander compiled a 3.46 in 10 regular-season outings out of the bullpen last summer and worked 3 2/3 scoreless innings in game three of Canberra’s Semi-Final Series against Adelaide to give the Cavs a shot at advancing to the Championship Series.
