The 21-year-old infielder made his debut with the Heat during 2016/17 season and has gone on to play 107 games since, averaging .241 with four homers and 51 RBIs.

Dion Searle homered and led the way with five RBIs as Taipans racked up 26 hits to seven in an impressive display.

Baseball Australia has formed a new partnership with the American Baseball Coaches Association – the world’s largest amateur baseball coaching organisation.
Under the partnership, Australian coaches will have access to a discounted ABCA yearly membership if they express interest in joining before October 31.

Veteran relief pitcher Scott Mitchinson will return for Melbourne’s title defence, the club announced today.
Mitchinson, a dual championship winner with Perth during seven seasons with the Heat, joined the Aces ahead of last season and went 3-1 with a 2.63 ERA in 15 regular-season outings.

The 16-year-old starting pitcher went 5 2/3 innings, allowing one unearned run on five hits, a walk and two hit batters, to secure the win in a 4-1 triumph for the Redsox.
