Blackley set for fifth season with Bandits
Former big leaguer Travis Blackley will link up with Brisbane for a fifth Australian Baseball League season.
The Bandits earlier today announced the left-handed Boral Team Australia starter would add to his 44 ABL games across stints with Brisbane and Melbourne.

Heat re-sign 2018 ABL Rookie of the Year
Perth has re-signed 2018 ABL Rookie of the Year Jess Williams for another season.
The 21-year-old infielder made his debut with the Heat during 2016/17 season and has gone on to play 107 games since, averaging .241 with four homers and 51 RBIs.

Taipans power past Jethawks in Townsville grand final
Taipans’ offence fired in a big way to cap off a dominant Baseball Association Townsville season with a 27-6 win over the Jethawks in Sunday’s grand final at Jabiru Park.
Dion Searle homered and led the way with five RBIs as Taipans racked up 26 hits to seven in an impressive display.

BA forms partnership with American Baseball Coaches Association
Baseball Australia has formed a new partnership with the American Baseball Coaches Association – the world’s largest amateur baseball coaching organisation.
Under the partnership, Australian coaches will have access to a discounted ABCA yearly membership if they express interest in joining before October 31.

Mitchinson returns for title defence with Aces
Veteran relief pitcher Scott Mitchinson will return for Melbourne’s title defence, the club announced today.
Mitchinson, a dual championship winner with Perth during seven seasons with the Heat, joined the Aces ahead of last season and went 3-1 with a 2.63 ERA in 15 regular-season outings.

Bojarski drives in four, Eagles go 2-0 in WA State League 1
Ulrich Bojarski drove in four runs as Morley made it two wins from two games in the WA State League 1 on Sunday.
The Eagles fell behind Rockingham in the top of the first but scored the next 10 runs on their way to a 14-5 win at Perth Harley-Davidson Ballpark.

Yeatman strikes out 10, Redsox claim SABL opener
Riley Yeatman struck out 10 and East Torrens used a three-run fifth to overcome Adelaide in their South Australian Baseball League opener at Patterson Reserve on Sunday.
The 16-year-old starting pitcher went 5 2/3 innings, allowing one unearned run on five hits, a walk and two hit batters, to secure the win in a 4-1 triumph for the Redsox.

Rays punch way past Redsox in GBL
Redlands rode early offence and 20 strikeouts from its pitching staff to a 2-0 start to the Greater Brisbane League season on Sunday.
The Rays scored runs in each of the first three frames and used strong pitching the rest of the way to notch a 5-2 win over Mudgeeraba at Duncan Road.

Younis, Shepherd homer for Kookaburras in NSWSBL win
Jacob Younis hit a grand slam and Zac Shepherd also went deep to lift Baulkham Hills to a 12-6 win over Greater Western in the NSW State Baseball League at Northmead Reserve on Sunday.
Younis blasted a slam to cap off a five-run second inning for the Kookaburras after Jack Dormor’s RBI-single opened the scoring.

Eagles thump Cubs, start WA State League 1 season with win
Morley scored early and often in a comprehensive 13-1 win over South Perth to start its WA State League 1 campaign on Saturday night.
The Eagles scored three runs in the top of the first and piled on 10 unanswered runs after the Cubs hit back with their solo tally in the bottom of the opening frame at Perth Harley-Davidson Ballpark.
