Victorian Jackson Boyd recorded a career-high eight strikeouts to complete South Alabama’s shutout win over New Orleans on Thursday afternoon.
Boyd took over from Miles Smith in the sixth and struck out eight of the 12 batters he faced to pick up his first win of the season in a 5-0 victory at Maestri Field.

Adelaide pitcher Mitch Neunborn and Brisbane infielder Dermot Fritsch have claimed the SportsLink Travel 2021 ABL Rookie of the Year award, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The duo could not be separated after a vote by the league’s six managers and become the first joint winners of the rookie award in the modern-day ABL.
