Big second lifts Braves over Hawks in WA State League 1

Braves rode a 10-run second inning to victory in their 2021/22 WA State League 1 season-opener at Empire Ballpark on Thursday night.

The big top of the second helped Braves overturn an early deficit on their way to a 12-7 win over Gosnells Hawks, who fell to an 0-2 record after going down to Victoria Park/Belmont Reds in the opening game of the season on Wednesday night.

Reds collect first win of WA State League 1 season

Victoria Park/Belmont Reds picked up the first win of the 2021/22 WA State League 1 season on Wednesday night.

A seven-run fifth put the Reds on top as they secured a 10-1 win over Gosnells Hawks at Empire Ballpark.

Host locked in for next two Junior League Championships

The Australian Junior League Championship will remain in Adelaide for at least the next two years.

Baseball Australia today announced West Beach would host the 2022 and 2023 events with next year’s edition to be held from May 30 to June 3.

Ellis wins championship with River Bandits

Victorian Mitch Ellis has won a championship in his first Minor League Baseball season.

The 26-year-old pitcher’s Quad Cities River Bandits wrapped up the High-A Central Championship with a 5-0 victory in game five on Monday.

Mead helps Hot Rods to series-opening win

South Australian Curtis Mead’s ninth-inning single helped Bowling Green Hot Rods seal a comeback win in the opening game of the High-A East Championship Series on Friday morning.

Mead’s single allowed two runs to score and the Hot Rods to hit the front as they secured a 10-8 over the Greensboro Grasshoppers at First National Bank Field.

Queensland pitcher latest to commit to Bulldogs

Queensland pitcher Joel Hogan has become the latest Australian to commit to Division I junior college Clarendon.

The 17-year-old right-hander is the second Queenslander to link with the Bulldogs in recent months, following in the footsteps of Pine Hills Lightning catcher Tim Preston.

Bandits re-sign fan favourite for 2021/22 season

Fan favourite Logan Wade has signed on for a 10th Australian Baseball League season with the Brisbane Bandits.

The 29-year-old infielder is a four-time ABL championship winner with the Bandits and made 313 regular-season appearances for the Sunshine State club.

Heat retain services of young catcher

West Australian catcher Alex Hall has signed with the Perth Heat ahead of the 2021/22 Australian Baseball League season.

The 22-year-old Milwaukee Brewers prospect will be fronting for his sixth season in the league after making his debut in November 2016.

Call made on January's #AYC2022, pathways calendar revealed

The COVID-19 pandemic has put a line through a January Australian Youth Championship for a second-straight year, but a revised pathways calendar for 2022 has been revealed to ensure the country’s underage players still have plenty of opportunities for their development.

Baseball Australia today announced the Australian Youth Championship would not go ahead in January due to the ongoing uncertainty caused by the current COVID situation and border restrictions across the country.

Three Aussies to feature in Minor League playoffs

Three Australians are set to feature in the Minor League Baseball playoffs when they get underway tomorrow.

Queenslander Aaron Whitefield, South Australian Curtis Mead and Victorian Mitch Ellis will be after championships with their respective teams across best-of-five series.

Mead's first Triple-A homer sparks comeback

South Australian Curtis Mead’s first Triple-A homer sparked Durham Bulls to a comeback win – and league title – in Friday morning’s Minor League Baseball action.

Mead’s solo shot to left field in the fifth got the Bulls going down 6-0 and they went on to win 8-6  over Charlotte Knights at Truist Field.
