Surfers stun Rays late in GBL

Surfers Paradise used a four-run eighth to down Redlands and claim its fifth win of the Greater Brisbane League season at Sir Bruce Small Park on Sunday.

Scott Fitzgibbon’s two-run double and a two-run homer from Josh Warner helped lift Surfers to a 9-6 win over their higher-ranked opponents.

Reds square WASL1 ledger against Cats

Victoria Park/Belmont squared its WA State League 1 record at 5-5 by downing Carine at Perth Harley-Davidson Ballpark on Friday night.

The Reds jumped to a 5-0 lead and padded their advantage late to prevail 9-2 and return to .500.

Lightning take out top-of-the-table GBL clash

Pine Hills was far too strong for Redcliffe Red in their top-of-the-table Greater Brisbane League clash on Friday night, prevailing 10-0 at Talobilla Park.

Jeremy Atkinson struck out 12 across seven innings for the Lightning and Mitch Nilsson and Daniel Nilsson went deep in support.

Perth walk off, move a game below .500 in WASL1

Perth moved one game below .500 after walking off against Swan Districts in the WA State League 1 at Perth Harley-Davidson Ballpark on Wednesday night.

An error plated the winning run with two out as Perth prevailed 1-0 in a pitchers’ duel and notched a fourth victory in its past five games.

Shepherd lifts Kookaburras to walk-off win in NSWSBL

Zac Shepherd singled with two out in the bottom of the seventh to lift New South Wales State Baseball League leading Baulkham Hills to a walk-off win on Wednesday night.

Riley Watson singled ahead of Nick Chappell and Jacob Younis walking to load the bases before Shepherd delivered to give the Kookaburras a 4-3 win over Macarthur at Blacktown International Sportspark.

Bandits taking pre-season games to Gold Coast

Brisbane’s preparations for the upcoming Australian Baseball League season will include a stop off on the Gold Coast.

The Bandits this week announced they would play two exhibition games as part of a three day development camp from December 18-20.

Australian utility wins MVP award in Germany

Darwin-born Wilson Lee has been named the German Bundesliga’s North Division MVP following an outstanding season for Bonn Capitals.

Lee hit .551 and led the Bundesliga North with seven homers and 23 RBIs.

Workers power past Orioles in NSW Women's League

Blacktown used a powerful offensive performance and strong pitching to break a run of close finishes in the NSW Women’s Baseball League on Saturday night.

Workers racked up 13 hits and did not allow a run until the fifth inning of an 11-1 win over Macarthur at Gilchrist Oval, snapping a run of two-straight ties.

Brisbane to host Women's Showcase opener

The opening games of next year’s Women’s Showcase have been locked in with Brisbane’s Viticon Stadium set to stage history on January 8.

The country’s top female players will go head-to-head in a doubleheader in Brisbane ahead of facing off again in Adelaide on January 17, as announced last month.

National Showcase Series: Here's what we know

Baseball Queensland has announced details of its National Showcase Series, finalising the full slate for next January’s Australian Youth Championship replacement content.

Following the cancellation of the 2021 Australian Youth Championship the localised National Showcase Series content will provide an opportunity for U-16 and U-18 talent to go head-to-head and be profiled to ensure exposure to scouts.

Giants double up against Braves in WA State League 1

Wanneroo put an end to Braves’ unbeaten start to the WA State League 1 season on Sunday, claiming both games of a doubleheader at Winnacott Reserve.

The Giants took game one 2-1 ahead of capitalising on early errors and a strong start from Tom Bailey in a 6-4 victory to complete the sweep.
