Baulkham Hills is one win from the New South Wales State Baseball League grand final after claiming the opener of its best-of-three major semi-final against Blacktown on Wednesday night.
Matthew Bennett went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and starter Liam McCallum tossed six scoreless innings to lead the Kookaburras to a 1-0 lead with a 9-1 win at Blacktown International Sportspark.

Adelaide pitcher Mitch Neunborn and Brisbane infielder Dermot Fritsch have claimed the SportsLink Travel 2021 ABL Rookie of the Year award, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The duo could not be separated after a vote by the league’s six managers and become the first joint winners of the rookie award in the modern-day ABL.
