McGarry slam helps Rays to first SLBA win

First baseman Tom McGarry hit a grand slam as Western Rays opened their Super League Baseball Adelaide account with an 11-1 win over the Northern Marlins on Wednesday night.

McGarry’s slam put the Rays up 6-1 at West Beach as they snapped a four-game losing streak to start the season.

Vikings walk off to inflict Workers' first NSWSBL defeat

Canterbury Bankstown ended Blacktown’s unbeaten start to the New South Wales State Baseball League season with a thrilling walk-off win at Riverside Park on Wednesday night.

A two-run double from David Kandilas capped off a three-run frame as the Vikings rallied to prevail 5-4 and secure their third win of the season.

Infielder Warner returns for Cavalry

Infielder Cam Warner will return for a fourth Australian Baseball League season with Canberra aiming to build on an impressive 2019/20 campaign.

The 26-year-old’s 43 hits for the Cavalry last season were second only to Zach Wilson.

Veteran reliever Matt Timms will return for a seventh Australian Baseball League season with Brisbane.

Timms, 33, ranks seventh in the relaunched league with 115 regular-season appearances.

Eagles soar to top of SABL standings

West Torrens rode a strong start from Nathan Van Der Linden and two-homer game from Mitch Neunborn to the top of the South Australian Baseball League standings on Sunday.

The Eagles capitalised on Sturt suffering its first loss of the campaign to move to the top with a 4-0 record after overpowering Golden Grove Central Districts 13-2 at Illyarrie Reserve.

Baseball SA announces Sammy D Foundation partnership

The Sammy D Foundation will deliver its Monkey See, Monkey Do program to all 14 clubs across metropolitan Adelaide under a new partnership with Baseball SA.

The program features a 120-minute session delivered by Sammy D facilitators, including founder Neil Davis, focused on changing players’ attitudes toward bullying and violence, and educating parents and club members about the impacts of inappropriate sideline behaviours.

Surfers snap GBL losing streak in close call

Surfers Paradise snapped a seven-game losing streak to start the Greater Brisbane League season, downing Mudgeeraba 5-4 at Sir Bruce Small Park on Sunday.

Brad Croft recorded the final six outs as Surfers held on for a one-run win after taking the lead in the bottom of the seventh on back-to-back walks with the bases loaded.

Giants bounce back in WA State League 1

Wanneroo bounced back from its first loss of the WA State League 1 season to down Carine 12-0 at Perth Harley-Davidson Ballpark on Friday night.

Five pitchers combined to shut out the Cats and the Giants capped off an evening of steady offence with a seven-run sixth to record a fourth win in five games to start the 2020/21 season.

Carina continues impressive GBL start with late rally

Carina scored a pair of late runs to overcome Pine Hills 2-1 on the road and continue its impressive start to the Greater Brisbane League season on Friday night.

The Redsox, who finished second-to-last a season ago, took their record to 5-1 following the comeback victory at James Drysdale Reserve.

Warner returns for third season with Cavs

Josh Warner will return for a third Australian Baseball League season with Canberra and seventh overall, the Cavalry announced today.

The 28-year-old right-hander compiled a 3.46 in 10 regular-season outings out of the bullpen last summer and worked 3 2/3 scoreless innings in game three of Canberra’s Semi-Final Series against Adelaide to give the Cavs a shot at advancing to the Championship Series.

Infielder Wade re-signs with Bandits

Infielder Logan Wade has re-signed with Brisbane for the 2020/21 Australian Baseball League season.

The 28-year-old Boral Team Australia representative will enter the new ABL season on 294 hits, one back from teammate Andrew Campbell, as he looks to become the latest member of the relaunched league’s 300-hit club.
