Jethawks scored late to overcome Pirates 5-4 in Baseball Association Townsville action on Sunday, setting up a massive clash against Mustangs this weekend.
Sean Breitkreutz’s late RBI-single broke the deadlock at Jabiru Park and lifted the Jethawks level with Mustangs, who lost to the unbeaten Taipans, on three wins entering round eight.

Pirates’ winless start to the Baseball Association Townsville season has come to an end following a comeback win over Mustangs at Jabiru Park on Sunday.
The Pirates overturned an early 5-1 deficit with a seven-run fourth and padded their advantage with three runs in the fifth before holding on to win 11-9.

MLB Network’s Jon Heyman tweeted this morning the two-time World Series champion, who was recently linked to Auckland, would join the Blue Sox for the upcoming Australian Baseball League season.

Seattle prospect Blake Townsend will link up with Melbourne for its Australian Baseball League title defence as he continues his comeback from Tommy John surgery.
The 19-year-old pitcher did not feature on the mound for the Aces during their Claxton Shield run after undergoing surgery midway through last year but will return for a third ABL season with Melbourne this summer.
