Sulser, Heat silence Giants in Adelaide hub

A Beau Sulser gem and five-run sixth helped Perth level its record at 3-3 at Dicolor Australia Stadium on Thursday night.

Sulser struck out three and allowed only two hits in five innings to help lead the Heat to a 5-0 win over Adelaide.

GAME CENTRE: Box score and play-by-play

It was a pitchers’ duel through five innings ahead of Perth breaking the game open with a five-run sixth.

Tim Kennelly started the inning with a single ahead of Grant Witherspoon and Robbie Glendinning drawing walks against reliever Luke Wilkins.

Ford Proctor drew a bases-loaded walk to break the deadlock.

Todd van Steensel entered and was unable to prevent the Heat adding to their lead.

Abiezel Ramirez’s single doubled the margin ahead of a wild pitch making it 3-0.

A single from Alex Hall and Sam Kennelly sacrifice fly capped off a game-breaking five-run frame.

Sulser was replaced by Jacop Lopez to start the sixth after giving Perth an outstanding platform.

The starter retired the last 11 batters he faced in a dominant performance.

Lopez struck out three in the sixth and worked around hitting Riley Moore with a pitch.

He worked a scoreless seventh to close out the game, inducing a double play to finish it off after Curtis Mead reached on an error.

The Heat’s pitching staff limited the Giants to just two hits.

The Adelaide hub, proudly supported by the South Australian Government, continues on Friday.

Brisbane faces Perth from 12.30pm local time.

Adelaide is back in action against the Bandits from 7.20pm local time at Dicolor Australia Stadium.

All Adelaide hub games will be broadcast on FOX SPORTS and streamed on Kayo Sports in Australia.

Games will be shown into the US on a number Regional Sports Networks including AT&T SportsNet, ROOT SPORTS, Cox Sports Television, NBC Regional Sports Network and For the Fans (previously Eleven Sports).

Check local guides for listings in the US.
