What we learned from Thursday's action

Brisbane broke through for its first win of the campaign while Adelaide and Canberra collected wins on the busiest day of the Australian Baseball League season so far.

The Bandits snapped a three-game losing streak to start the season after scoring first for the opening time of the campaign and building from there.

What we learned from Wednesday's action

No teams remain undefeated after Adelaide went down on Wednesday morning but Brisbane is still yet to taste victory this season.

But it is only the very early stages of the season with plenty of action to come in the hub in the Sunshine State while Canberra and Melbourne get a series underway tomorrow night.

What we learned from Sunday's action

Melbourne claimed the first series win of the season – not counting Thursday night’s one-off game against Perth – with a comfortable win over Canberra on Sunday.

The Aces bats were hot early and took advantage of some Cavalry errors to record a solid win and improve their record to 5-3.

What we learned from Saturday night's action

For the first time this season two regular-season games were played on one day as Saturday’s action got us underway in 2021.

It was the same two teams with Melbourne and Canberra splitting a doubleheader at Melbourne Ballpark.

What we learned from Sunday night's action

Melbourne used a Damek Tomscha homer to hit the front and claim a second series split in as many weeks on Sunday night.

The Aces followed up Tomscha’s second go-ahead homer of the campaign with plenty of late offence and backed it with a strong bullpen performance, 24 hours after a tough night at the office.

What we learned from Saturday night's action

Another team got their season underway on Saturday night when Canberra used late runs to overcome defending champions Melbourne.

It was a fascinating contest headlined by a strong starting pitching matchup between Frank Gailey and Gunnar Kines.
