Wollongong is in a strong position entering the final three weeks of the Illawarra Baseball League regular-season after notching a 13-4 win over Dapto on Saturday.
The Cardinals’ offence fired early and padded its lead late at Hector Harvey Park as Wollongong improved to 5-3, a win clear of the third-ranked Chiefs.

Pirates’ winless start to the Baseball Association Townsville season has come to an end following a comeback win over Mustangs at Jabiru Park on Sunday.
The Pirates overturned an early 5-1 deficit with a seven-run fourth and padded their advantage with three runs in the fifth before holding on to win 11-9.

Sydney has swooped on 12-time Major League Baseball All-Star Manny Ramirez, signing the 48-year-old to a one-year Australian Baseball League deal.
MLB Network’s Jon Heyman tweeted this morning the two-time World Series champion, who was recently linked to Auckland, would join the Blue Sox for the upcoming Australian Baseball League season.

Seattle prospect Blake Townsend will link up with Melbourne for its Australian Baseball League title defence as he continues his comeback from Tommy John surgery.
The 19-year-old pitcher did not feature on the mound for the Aces during their Claxton Shield run after undergoing surgery midway through last year but will return for a third ABL season with Melbourne this summer.

Melbourne will start its Australian Baseball League title defence with back-to-back road series when the season gets underway on December 18.
The ABL’s Australian Conference schedule was released today with the Aces set to travel to Sydney to face the Blue Sox in the opening game of the season.

Defending champions Melbourne will start the Australian Baseball League season on the road against Sydney on December 18 while Perth will welcome Canberra in a rematch of last year’s Wild Card Game on the same day.
The ABL will tomorrow release the full Australian Conference schedule but the home openers for each of the four teams were today confirmed after the structure for the 2020/21 season was outlined earlier.

Baseball Australia chief executive Cam Vale says Geelong-Korea remains committed to Geelong despite hitting the road for the entire 2020/21 Australian Baseball League season.
The ABL’s revamped structure – which was announced this morning – will likely see GK spend the entire season in a hub in New Zealand as part of the newly formed International Conference.

The Australian Baseball League’s 2020/21 season will feature an Australian and International conference under a bold revamp to combat the impact of COVID-19.
Under the new-look model each team will play 24 games with the International Conference likely to be based almost entirely in New Zealand at Auckland’s North Harbour Stadium.

Dion Searle finished with 13 strikeouts as Taipans continued their perfect start to the Baseball Association Townsville season at Jabiru Park on Sunday.
Searle allowed two runs – both unearned – on two hits and four walks in 5 2/3 impressive innings as the Taipans powered past the Pirates 9-2.

The 2020/21 Australian Baseball League season could include a ninth team following significant interest from international baseball organisations.
Baseball Australia chief executive Cam Vale said there had been keen interest from Taiwan and Japan, along with from Major League Baseball organisations, in being part of the ABL’s 11th season and possibly beyond.
Baseball.com.au is a division of The Australian Baseball Federation. The Australian Baseball Federation is the peak representative body for baseball in Australia. The Australian Baseball Federation has national and international regulatory and coordination responsibilities.
