West Australian Liam Hendriks has been named the 2020 Mariano Rivera American League Reliever of the Year.
Oakland’s closer posted a 1.78 ERA across 24 appearances during the 2020 regular-season and also delivered three scoreless innings in the Athletics’ 9-7 victory over Houston in game three of the AL Division Series to keep their season alive.

Oakland – and West Australian Liam Hendriks – have been bundled out of the MLB playoffs following an 11-6 loss to Houston in game four of their American League Division Series on Friday morning.
Hendriks did not get into the game as the Astros blew the contest open at Dodgers Stadium.

Liam Hendriks collected the first postseason save of his Major League career to propel Oakland into an American League Division Series against fierce rivals Houston.
The A’s topped the Chicago White Sox 6-4 at the Coliseum on Friday morning (Australian time) to complete a comeback 2-1 series win – their first in the playoffs since 2006 – in the best-of-three AL Wild Card matchup.
