Error hurts Thorpe in loss to Angels

Victorian Lewis Thorpe was hurt by an error as he copped the loss in Minnesota’s 7-1 defeat to the Los Angeles Angels in game one of a doubleheader on Friday morning.

The Angels took advantage of a one-out error in the second to plate three runs on a double from Phil Gosselin after Thorpe would have been out of the inning.

Thorpe lacks run support in loss

Victorian Lewis Thorpe worked into the sixth inning but lacked run support as Minnesota went down to Texas 3-1 on Thursday.

Thorpe, called up a day earlier to make his second start of the season, allowed three runs on five hits at Target Field.

Thorpe to start in 2021 season debut

Victorian Lewis Thorpe has been recalled by Minnesota and will make his 2021 MLB season debut in a start against the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday morning.

The Twins called Thorpe up on Friday morning to start in game one of their series against the Angels at Angels Stadium.

A's facing elimination against White Sox

Oakland is on the brink of elimination after dropping game one of its American League Wild Card Series against the Chicago White Sox 4-1 on Wednesday morning.

West Australian closer Liam Hendriks was not called upon at the Coliseum as the first 18 A’s hitters were retired by Sox starter Lucas Giolito in a dominant outing.

Major League Baseball’s 2020 postseason field is set after the final two spots were decided on the final day of the regular-season.

St. Louis recorded a 5-2 win over Milwaukee to lock up the National League’s fifth seed.

Thorpe works four frames in Twins' loss to Brewers

Victorian Lewis Thorpe worked four innings during Minnesota’s 9-3 loss to Milwaukee at Target Field on Thursday.

The lefty struck out three and allowed four runs on six hits and three walks in his first appearance since August 12.

Thorpe strikes out two in scoreless outing for Twins

Victorian Lewis Thorpe turned in a scoreless outing for Minnesota in a 12-2 win over Milwaukee at Miller Park on Thursday.

The lefty tossed two innings – the eighth and ninth – in the blowout win to bounce back after a a couple of testing outings.

Thorpe takes no decision in first MLB start of 2020

Victorian Lewis Thorpe took a no-decision in his first start of the 2020 Major League Baseball season after Minnesota surged late to claim a walk-off win over Pittsburgh at Target Field on Tuesday (Australian time).

The 24-year-old lasted four innings in his third career big league start, allowing three runs on six hits, ahead of Nelson Cruz’s deep single giving the Twins a 5-4 walk-off win.

Thorpe slated for first start of 2020

Victorian Lewis Thorpe will start for Minnesota in its series-opener against Pittsburgh tomorrow, MLB.com’s Do-Hyoung Park has reported.

Thorpe is expected to start for the Twins at Target Field after Homer Bailey was put on the 10-day injured list with right biceps tendinitis.

Thorpe throws two scoreless, Twins fall to Indians

Victorian Lewis Thorpe tossed two scoreless innings in his second outing of the MLB season but Minnesota’s offence was unable to get going in a 2-0 loss to Cleveland on Friday morning at Target Field.

Thorpe entered in the top of the eighth and gave up a lead-off single to Carlos Santana but induced a double play to end the inning after getting Franmil Reyes to fly out for the first out.
