Eastern Athletics improved to 2-0 at the 2021 Australian Intermediate League Championship on Wednesday following a 6-5 win over Wanneroo Giants on diamond two.
The Athletics jumped out to an early lead and survived a late scare to stay perfect ahead of facing Ryde Hawks in the second game of a doubleheader later today.

Ryde Hawks bounced back to split their day one doubleheader at the 2021 Australian Intermediate League Championship in Mildura on Tuesday.
The Hawks rallied from 6-1 down heading into the bottom of the fourth to seal a 12-11 win over Wanneroo after falling to Eastern Athletics in a rain-affected nail-biter earlier in the day.

The Hawks took the lead with three-run top of the inning but the Athletics prevailed to walk off 12-11 after a pair of late rain delays.

George Calverley broke an early tie with a three-run homer and the Phantoms did not look back, despite a delay, in a 17-3 win on diamond two.
