Ryde start #AILC2022 with win over Phantoms
Ryde Hawks have made a winning start to the 2022 Australian Intermediate League Championship, defeating Eastern Phantoms 8-4 in Mildura on Sunday.
The Hawks overcame an early three-run deficit, before holding their advantage thanks to a strong performance from their bullpen on diamond one.

Lucas Williams, Kimi Soong and William Hooper combined to allow just one unearned run across 5 1/3 innings of relief work.
The trio also struck out six batters while allowing just two hits.
Soong accounted for five of the strikeouts in three one-hit innings.
The Phantoms made a fast start, scoring three runs in the second to take an early lead.
Ryde answered in the second with a run, before scoring three in the third to take the lead.
The Hawks then pulled away with three runs in the fifth to seal the contest.
Cash Robinson drove in three runs for Ryde, while Lucas Williams and Riley Coyle each had two RBIs.
Zai Gordon had two of three hits for the Phantoms
Eastern Phantoms will look to bounce back when they take on Twins on diamond two on Monday at 10.15am.
Ryde will look to improve to 2-0 when they take on Brisbane Metro from 1.15pm.
The Australian Intermediate League Championship is supported by the Victorian Government’s Significant Sporting Events Program.
Mildura Rural City Council are also a major partner of the event.
