Lismore to host Australia and Canada U-18 Showdown

Australia and Canada will wrap up their preparations for the 2019 WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in South Korea with a training camp in Lismore this month.

The two teams will use Albert Park Baseball Complex to finalise their preparations from August 20-27, ahead of jetting off to Gijang City for the World Cup.

Metros overpowered by Asia-Pacific Region

Northern Metros have fallen to Asia-Pacific Region in their 2019 Junior League Baseball World Series opener in Taylor, Michigan.

The Metros, representing Australia Region, went down 10-0 against one of the traditional World Series powerhouses.

Bojarski collects first hit after promotion

Ulrich Bojarski collected his first Class A Advanced hit and scored twice in Lakeland’s 3-1 win over Florida this morning.

Bojarski – who was called up to the Flying Tigers on August 7 – brought up his first Class A Advanced hit with a second-inning triple.

Cronulla has completed the long trek from Sydney and arrived in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, for the 2019 Little League Baseball World Series.

Mead lifts Phillies East to victory in GCL

Curtis Mead’s career-high four hits lifted Phillies East to a 10-9 win over Yankees West in the Gulf Coast League earlier today.

Mead went 4-for-5 and drove in three runs for the second time in his 32-game MiLB career.

Metros primed for Junior League World Series

Northern Metros’ manager Craig Hughes set his sights on a top-eight finish at May’s Australian Junior League Championship in Adelaide.

On Monday morning, the Western Australian charter is set to represent Australia Region at the Junior League Baseball World Series in Taylor, Michigan.

Thorpe strikes out seven in return to Rochester

Lewis Thorpe struck out seven in six scoreless innings for Rochester in his return to Triple-A this morning.

The left-hander did not give up a hit until the fifth inning but despite his strong outing the Red Wings fell to Gwinnett 4-3 at Frontier Field.

Shepherd strikes out four, collects first win

Zac Shepherd struck out four in two scoreless frames to collect his first Minor League win in his 14th appearance on the mound.

Shepherd worked a scoreless seventh and eighth as Connecticut topped Aberdeen 3-2 in their New York-Penn League game at Dodd Stadium.
