Essendon Bombers are a win away from the Victorian Summer Baseball League grand final series after blanking Geelong Baycats in the opening game of their semi-final on Tuesday night.
Starter Sam Street struck out seven and allowed just three hits in eight scoreless innings to lead the Bombers to a 10-0 at Melbourne Ballpark.

Geelong Baycats have picked up their fifth straight victory to begin the Victorian Summer Baseball League season defeating Berwick City Cougars 9-1 over the weekend.
Baycats starter Sam Gibbons threw a complete game allowing just one run over seven innings of work to shut down the Cougars at the Geelong Baseball Centre.

Canberra has named its roster to take on Melbourne in three games at Melbourne Ballpark this weekend.
The Cavalry will be without Boss Moanaroa, Josh Warner and Toronto prospect Chavez Young against the Aces at Melbourne Ballpark, while Taylor Jockers, Lee Mills and Jack Middleton also come off the active roster.

Relief pitcher Sam Street will be part of Melbourne’s title defence after signing on with the Aces.
Street, 28, made nine appearances last season and put together a 1-0 record with an ERA of 2.65.
