Victoria Blue continued its red-hot start to the 2019 Australian Women’s Championships in Canberra on Monday.
Blue improved to 3-0 after two days with a 10-0 victory over Queensland.

Team Australia will face defending champions – and Group C hosts – Korea in their Premier12 debut at Gocheok Sky Dome on November 6.
The full Group C schedule, including world No. 7 Australia’s tournament opener against Korea, was revealed at a press conference in Seoul on Monday afternoon.

After six years and three Women’s Baseball World Cups, Simone Wearne has stepped down as the Australian Emeralds manager.
Wearne’s tenure as the Emeralds manager began in 2013, leading Australia to three World Cups in 2014, 2016 and 2018.

Bite import Mikey Reynolds and Heat stalwart Tim Kennelly have taken out the Brett Brothers Batting Champion Award.
Reynolds and Kennelly become the first joint winners of the Batting Champion, after each receiving nine votes from opposition managers.

For the first time in the history of Australian baseball, two men have been awarded the Brut Australian Baseball League’s most prestigious individual honour.
Markus Solbach has become the first pitcher since Wayne Lundgren in 2009/10 to win the Helms Award, while Tim Kennelly is the first player to win multiple Helms Awards*, following his 2011/12 honour.

Baseball Australia has stepped up to the plate to protect children from alcohol harm, today pledging to no longer accept alcohol advertising in its junior competitions and at the national representative level of the game.
In doing so, it becomes the first Australian sporting code to partner with the national campaign, End Alcohol Advertising in Sport, and sends a strong message that Baseball Australia is proactively building a more family-friendly and healthier sporting environment.

A pre-season technical adjustment changed the course of Markus Solbach’s baseball career and helped German native claimed the 2019 BLK Pitcher of the Year award.
In his third season of Brut Australian Baseball League action, Solbach put together one of the most impressive individual campaigns of all time, finishing with a 1.10 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings pitched.
