Gallant Cronulla bow out of #LLWS

Gallant Cronulla has been eliminated from the 2019 Little League Baseball World Series after falling 2-0 to Latin America Region this morning.

Australia Region’s representatives fell behind in the bottom of the second and did not allow a second run until the fifth in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Thorpe set for third stint with Minnesota

Lewis Thorpe has been recalled by Minnesota and will link up with the Twins for a third stint this season.

Minnesota announced this morning (Australian time) the left-handed Victorian had been recalled from Triple A Rochester.

Mead continues hot run with first homer

South Australian Curtis Mead continued his red-hot form by blasting his first Minor League homer earlier today.

The 18-year-old’s solo shot in the top of the ninth was the only run Phillies East scored in a 6-1 loss to Tigers West at Tigertown.

Australia v Canada U-18 schedule confirmed

The schedule for Australia and Canada’s U-18 series in Lismore next week has been confirmed.

Australia and Canada will square off six times from August 22-26 in preparation for the 2019 WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in South Korea from August 31.

The Northern Metros were knocked out of the main bracket at the Junior League World Series in Taylor, Michigan, yesterday but not without putting up plenty of fight.

Cronulla overpowered in #LLWS opener

Cronulla has fallen to Caribbean Region in the opening game of the 2019 Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, this morning.

Shendrion Martinus tossed a no-hitter and Curley Martha homered to lift the Caribbean to an 11-0 win over Cronulla, representing Australia Region, at Volunteer Stadium.

#TBT: Australia at the Little League World Series

Cronulla is set to become the seventh Australian team to take part at the Little League World Series when it opens the 2019 event against Caribbean Region tomorrow morning.

It marks the second time Cronulla has represented Australia Region on Little League’s biggest stage.

Hendriks finishes off Giants for 13th save

Oakland closer Liam Hendriks stifled San Francisco’s comeback bid – with some late offensive aid – to record his 13th save of the MLB season at Oracle Park earlier today.

Hendriks entered the game with the Giants looking to add to a five-run frame but picked up the final four outs – three of them via strikeouts – to help the Athletics to a 9-5 victory.

Metros' #JLWS run comes to an end

Northern Metros’ Junior League Baseball World Series run has come to an end after falling to Latin America Region in Taylor, Michigan, this morning.

The Metros, representing Australia Region in the US, took a first-inning lead before Latin America flexed its muscle to record a 16-5 victory.

Younis signs on for 10th season with Sox

Jacob Younis has signed on for a 10th Australian Baseball League season with the Sydney Blue Sox.

The club today announced the 26-year-old utility had committed for the 2019/20 season.
