AIS invests in Baseball Australia’s Performance Pathway Program

Baseball Australia has secured a $180,000 investment from the Australian Institute of Sport over the next 12 months to help establish its new Performance Pathway Program.

The AIS investment will help provide a strong platform for Boral Team Australia to achieve its goal of producing a team capable of returning from the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics with a medal around their neck.

Nilsson: I'm really proud of the way Team Australia played

Manager David Nilsson says there is a mix of emotions after Boral Team Australia bowed out of Premier12 against Chinese Taipei yesterday.

A 5-1 loss – on four runs in the eighth inning – denied Australia a spot in today’s bronze medal game against Mexico in its tournament debut.

Nilsson: Today was a great victory

Boral Team Australia manager David Nilsson has praised his squad after they kept alive their hopes of advancing to the Premier12 super round on Friday afternoon.

Australia scored two late runs to edge Canada 3-1 at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome and put one foot into the super round in Tokyo.

Australia ready for South Korea test, confirm pitcher

Manager David Nilsson says Boral Team Australia is relishing a first-up Premier12 clash against defending champions South Korea tomorrow night.

Nilsson today fronted the media and confirmed Australia would start right-hander Tim Atherton in its tournament debut against the world’s number three nation at Gocheok Sky Dome.

Nilsson: We're looking pretty good

Manager David Nilsson says Boral Team Australia is “looking pretty good” ahead of its Premier12 debut against South Korea on Wednesday night.

Australia will play Venezuela today and Chinese Taipei tomorrow in its final two warmup games at Taichung Intercontinental Stadium in Taiwan before heading to South Korea on Monday.

Boral Team Australia has announced an experienced roster for its Premier12 debut in South Korea next month.

Manager David Nilsson’s 28-man squad includes 18 players who represented Australia at the 2017 World Baseball Classic in Japan.

Nilsson returns as Bandits chase five straight

David Nilsson will return as Brisbane manager for the Bandits’ chase of a fifth-straight Claxton Shield.

The 2019/20 Australian Baseball League will mark the former big leaguer’s six-straight at the helm of Brisbane after previously leading the Bandits during their 2010/11 campaign.

David Nilsson named Team Australia manager

Following an extensive selection process over the last two months, Baseball Australia is proud to announce three-time ABL Championship winning manager David Nilsson has been appointed Team Australia manager.

Nilsson returned to the national team staff as an Assistant Coach for the 2018 Japan Series after winning three consecutive ABL titles with the Brisbane Bandits from 2015-2018.
