Wells collects win in Arizona Fall League debut

Alex Wells collected the win in his first appearance of the 2019 Arizona Fall League as Surprise topped Salt River 4-1 at Peoria Stadium earlier today.

The left-hander replaced starter Dean Kremer to start the third and was able to strike out the side.

Wells slated to start game three for Baysox

Newcastle’s Alex Wells is slated to start for Bowie in game three of its Eastern League Championship Series battle with Trenton tomorrow morning.

The Baysox earlier today levelled the best-of-five series with a 7-2 win at ARM & HAMMER Park.

Wells, Baysox advance to Championship Series

Alex Wells worked six one-run innings as Bowie advanced to the Double-A Eastern League Championship Series this morning.

Wells was backed by a powerful offensive performance as the Baysox downed Harrisburg 12-5 at FNB Field to claim a 3-1 semi-final series win.

Orioles send Alex Wells to Arizona Fall League

New South Welshman Alex Wells is amongst five players Baltimore has chosen to send to the Arizona Fall League.

The 22-year-old left-hander will suit up for the Surprise Saguaros from September 18 in the six-team league which features elite young players from every MLB organisation.

Identical: Twins both work six scoreless frames

Anything you can do I can do … the same?

Twins Alex and Lachlan Wells both turned in six scoreless frames in Minor League games nearly 1500kms away this morning (Australian time) as their respective teams picked up wins.

Wells matches longest pro outing

Alex Wells matched his longest professional start, cruising through eight innings, to guide the Bowie Baysox to a 4-2 win over Harrisburg Senators.

Wells collected his eighth win of the season and maintained his Eastern League-leading 1.95 ERA by allowing a pair of runs on four hits at Prince George’s Stadium on Tuesday morning (Australian time).

Wells rides monsoon to first Minor League complete game

With the help of a tropical monsoon, New South Welshman Alex Wells notched his first Minor League complete game on Sunday morning (Australian time).

Wells worked five one-run innings as his Bowie Baysox completed a 3-1 victory over the Harrisburg Senators in their Eastern League contest at Prince George’s Stadium.
