Canberra has added its second big leaguer in the past week with Gavin Cecchini set to link up with the Cavalry for the upcoming Australian Baseball League season.
The 25-year-old infielder joins Canberra after electing free agency earlier this month following eight seasons in the New York Mets’ system, including two at MLB level.

Canberra has signed MLB experienced pitcher JJ Hoover ahead of the upcoming Australian Baseball League season.
Hoover made 290 big league appearances across seven seasons with Cincinnati, Arizona and Milwaukee, compiling a 19-21 record with an ERA of 4.17.

The Nippon Professional Baseball League’s Orix Buffaloes will send four players to Melbourne for the first half of the 2019/20 Australian Baseball League season.
Outfielders Hayato Nishiura, Yuma Mune and Kodai Sano will be joined by left-handed pitcher Ryoga Tomiyama at the Aces.

Outfielders Niko Hulsizer and Jordan Qsar, infielder Kaleo Johnson, catcher Roberto Alvarez and pitchers Blake Bivens, Audry Lugo and Carlos Garcia will link up with the Heat.

Canberra has extended its partnership with Yokohama DeNA BayStars and will receive four pitchers from the Nippon Professional Baseball organisation for the upcoming Australian Baseball League season.
The BayStars will send Shinichi Ohnuki, Kosuke Sakaguchi, Takamasa Kasai and Shingo Hirata to the nation’s capital this summer in a massive boost to the Cavalry’s pitching stocks.

The Bandits announced this morning the 30-year-old former Cincinnati outfielder would join their quest for a fifth-straight title.
