Giants down defending champions in Adelaide
Adelaide has recorded its first win in an Australian Baseball League season-opener since 2014 by taking down four-time defending champions Brisbane at home on Friday night.
The recently rebadged Giants took a 2-0 first inning lead after Aaron Whitefield doubled home Mikey Reynolds and later scored on a groundout.

Perth will look to make it two-from-two when its faces Auckland at North Harbour Stadium from 7pm local time (5pm AEDT).
The Heat took out the opening game of the Australian Baseball League season 6-1 in New Zealand last night on the back of a complete game from Dylan Unsworth and four homers.

Cavalry, GK and Heat collect opening night ABL wins
Former big leaguer JJ Hoover impressed in his Australian Baseball League debut and Canberra went back-to-back-to-back to take down Melbourne on opening night.
The Cavs got six strong innings out of Hoover and scored four runs in the third and fourth on their way to an 8-4 win at The Fort at MIT Ballpark on Thursday night.

Heat head east to face Auckland in ABL opener
Perth will need to overcome the longest trip in the Australian Baseball League when it faces Auckland tonight in the historic opening game at North Harbour Stadium.
South African Dylan Unsworth will start for the Heat – who fell in last year’s ABL Championship Series – against Tuatara youngster Kyle Glogoski from 7pm local time (5pm AEDT, 2pm AWST).
