Warriors hold off Hills, secure #ALLC2022 win
A grand slam from Aidan Gallagher has helped Southern Hills Warriors to an 8-5 victory over Hills at the 2022 Australian Little League Division II Championship on Wednesday.
Gallagher helped the Warriors to a 4-0 lead that later became an 8-1 cushion before they withstood a late rally from Hills to secure an opening day win on diamond seven.

The Warriors raced out of the blocks, taking a 4-0 lead on the back of Gallagher’s grand slam.
Hills pulled a run back in the second but Southern Hills responded with three runs in the third capped by a two-run double to Tom Oliver.
After a Jayden Davies RBI single made it 8-1, Hills rallied in their last at-bat with RBI singles to Jack Drummond and Tamati Stealey.
They brought the tying run to the plate but Kieran Payne struck out Hunter Hobbs to end the contest.
Oliver and Davies combined for five no-hit innings on the mound for Southern Hills allowing just one run while striking out 11 batters.
The Warriors will look to improve to 2-0 when they play Brisbane Metro at 8:45am local time on diamond five.
Hills will take on Central Firebirds on diamond seven tomorrow from 2:15pm.
