Tom Newbold drove in two runs to pull NSW level and recorded four important outs – three via strikeouts – as they fought back from an early deficit.

Blue conceded in the top of the first but scored three in the second and six in the third to pull away and record a strong win after dropping its first two games.

The Carina-product gave Queensland a five-run cushion in the top of the fourth and they held off Vic White, padding their advantage in the sixth before recording a first win.

The ACT jumped out to an early 6-1 but WA bounced back to record a 17-13 win on diamond four to improve t0 2-1 after dropping an earlier game to Country New South Wales.

NSW scored 10 runs across the sixth and seventh after being held scoreless through five to win 10-0 and improve to 2-0 on diamond two at Geelong Baseball Centre.
