Australia power past Hong Kong at Women's World Cup

Hong Kong stuck with the Australian Emeralds for two innings, however an unprecedented offensive explosion saw the Emeralds score 22 runs in the third and fourth innings to claim their second win of the World Cup.

Two of the three debutants got their first action at a World Cup, with Kaila Borgomastro claiming the final two outs of the ballgame on the mound, while Elodie O’Sullivan made a start in left-field, going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Late runs see Emeralds fall to Dominican Republic in Florida

The Emeralds second game of the Women’s World Cup was full of ebbs and flows, but unfortunately the Dominican finished stronger, scoring three late runs to top Australia 9-6.

The Dominican Republic did all of their damage with two outs in the bottom of the sixth, as the bottom third of their lineup picked up four consecutive hits, scoring three runs.

Australia top Cuba in rain-affected encounter at Women's World Cup

The Australian Emeralds were made to wait for their first victory at the Women’s World Cup in Florida, after weather suspended their game against Cuba.

Despite the delay, Australia finished the better, scoring the last seven runs to defeat Cuba 12-4.

McLellan ready to take on world's best

Abbey McLellan is a rookie by name, but certainly not by nature.

She has represented Victoria at multiple Australian Women’s Championships, with her most recent campaign in April yielding a .552 batting average, a team high 16 hits and a very handy OBP of .658.

Cougars eliminated from Little League Baseball World Series

Gold Coast has been eliminated from the 2018 Little League Baseball World Series following a 6-0 loss to the Caribbean in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, this morning (Australian time).

The Caribbean took the lead with a three-run third and the Cougars, representing Australia Region, were unable to muster the offence for a comeback on day three of the Little League World Series.

Heartbreak for Gold Coast in Little League World Series epic

It took until the final play of the game, but Mexico overcame Gold Coast in an all-time classic at the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport this morning.

Oscar Hyde was simply outstanding for Gold Coast, tossing 5.2 stellar innings, striking out 11 and only allowing three hits.

Australia fall to defending #U15WorldCup champions

Despite falling behind in the first few innings, Australia fought back before eventually going down 9-3 to two-time defending champions Cuba at the U15 World Cup.

Australia threatened early with the bases loaded in the first, however couldn’t capitalise, which opened the door for Cuba to plate four runs of their own in the second inning.

Australian MLB Invitational returns with 64 athletes named

Baseball Australia can today reveal the 64 athletes named to the 2018 Australian MLB Invitational, which will take place in Lismore, NSW between August 25 and September 1.

The Australian MLB Invitational is designed to allow the best 13 and 14 year old players in the country to play competitive games under the guise of both local and international coaches on home soil, and will be heavily subsidised by MLB to maximise player attendance.

Australia’s super Round hopes ended at U15 World Cup

Australia’s hopes of reaching the U15 World Cup Super Round are over following a 22-7 loss to Netherlands in Panama on Tuesday morning.

Jake Burns’ second home run of the tournament was not enough as Australia fell to its third loss, putting it out of contention for the Super Round ahead of its final Group B game against Cuba tomorrow morning.
