David Peake admits he got into baseball to avoid heading to church on Sunday morning as a child.

Now he lives and breathes the sport, from mowing the lawns to inspiring the next generation of talent to baseball and promoting its role in improved mental health.

But it’s all for a good cause with the 11-year-old set to chop if off and donate it towards a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a long-term medical condition. He is also trying to raise $5000 for kids in need.

At the Geelong Baycats Leanne Gibbons is best known as The Sheriff or Mother Gibbo.

But now the Geelong Baycats and Bellarine Bears life member has another title to answer to after becoming the first-ever Baseball.com.au PTP Hero of the Week for her ongoing contribution to the sport and baseball community in Geelong.
