City of Moreton Bay sponsorship of Little League Girls and Little League Invitational enters second year

A partnership between City of Moreton Bay and Baseball Australia is entering its second year to see the Little League Girls and Little League Invitational National Championships hosted in City of Moreton Bay until 2027.

In 2026, the two national tournaments will be held at Redcliffe Baseball Club.

These are two exciting tournaments on the Australian baseball calendar.

The Little League Girls National Championships is the first – and only – of its kind anywhere in the world. In 2024, Australian baseball helped push through barriers by becoming the first country to host a national Little League title exclusively for girls.

The Little League Invitational is aimed at providing existing Little League charters who do not regularly qualify for the four international tournament pathway national championships a chance to experience competing against their peers form across the country in a national tournament.

This year, both tournaments run side-by-side. A schedule is expected to be announced mid-June.

There aren’t many places better to host than the Redcliffe Padres, one of Queensland’s most successful clubs.

City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said the city’s commitment to sport, including hosting national competitions, plays a key role in supporting a healthy and active community.

“City of Moreton Bay is fast becoming a destination of choice for sporting events, and we’re proud to welcome players, families and fans from across Australia,” Mayor Flannery said. “With our mix of world-class facilities, accessible location, and incredible lifestyle, we’re well positioned to attract more events and visitors in the years ahead.”

Families of the 12 teams will love visiting the City of Moreton Bay.
