Next month’s last-chance Olympic baseball qualifier in Taiwan has been postponed due to the coronavirus.
The WBSC this afternoon announced the six-team event, due to take place in Taichung and Dou Liu from April 1-5, would be postponed due to player, personnel and spectator health and safety measures against the spread of the coronavirus.

WBSC Oceania has confirmed Boral Team Australia has no challengers for the region’s championship early next year and the event will not go ahead.
The event – which had not been officially announced – was set to decide the region’s participant at next April’s last chance Olympic qualifier in Taiwan.

The winner of the 2020 Oceania Baseball Championship will play Chinese Taipei on day one of April’s last-chance Olympic qualifier in Taiwan.
The WBSC overnight announced the schedule for the six-team tournament which will include hosts Chinese Taipei, China, the Netherlands, two teams from the Americas and the Oceania champion.
