Aiden Southcombe and Hugh Kelly combined to toss a no-hitter as Cronulla defeated Brisbane North 11-0 at the 2022 Australian Little League Division II Championship.

Cooper Calderon and Joshua Dalton also had multi-RBI games for Cronulla who improved to 2-0 in Pool B.

Starting for Cronulla Southcombe struck out 11 batters in his 3 2/3 innings on the mound allowing only one walk.

He was relieved by Kelly, who walked a batter before striking out Tyler-James Lowe to complete the no-hitter for Cronulla.

The pitching duo received plenty of support from their offence who scored five runs in the second and third innings.

Along with Calderon, Ashton Hayes-Conway had two hits for Cronulla as they totalled nine hits as a team.

Tony U’Prichard had an impressive relief outing for Brisbane North, throwing 1 1/3 scoreless innings and striking out three.

Southcombe was one of four Cronulla players with multiple hits as they racked up 13 hits to slug their way past Coastal Bay on diamond seven.

Cody Robertson drove in a pair of runs as Brisbane Metro started their 2022 Australian Little League Championship campaign with a 7-3 win over Adelaide Seahawks on diamond two Wednesday afternoon.

Metro raced out to a 7-0 lead before holding off an Adelaide rally in the final dig to seal a win in the final game of Wednesday’s action.

Andy Zdihan had a big all around day as Twins held off a late rally from Hills to claim a 4-3 win at the 2022 Australian Little League Championship in Macarthur on Wednesday.

Zdihan threw 2 2/3 scoreless innings on the mound, striking out eight, while recording two hits as the Victorian charter moved to 1-1 with a win on diamond five.

Adelaide Marlins have improved to 2-0 at the 2022 Australian Little League Championship after recording a shutout 10-0 victory over Carine Cats on Wednesday.

Four pitchers combined to hurl a shutout for the Marlins, who also racked up nine hits as they recorded a mercy-rule victory after five innings on diamond four.

A grand slam from Aidan Gallagher has helped Southern Hills Warriors to an 8-5 victory over Hills at the 2022 Australian Little League Division II Championship on Wednesday.

Gallagher helped the Warriors to a 4-0 lead that later became an 8-1 cushion before they withstood a late rally from Hills to secure an opening day win on diamond seven.

The Warriors raced out of the blocks, taking a 4-0 lead on the back of Gallagher’s grand slam.

Hills pulled a run back in the second but Southern Hills responded with three runs in the third capped by a two-run double to Tom Oliver.

After a Jayden Davies RBI single made it 8-1, Hills rallied in their last at-bat with RBI singles to Jack Drummond and Tamati Stealey.

They brought the tying run to the plate but Kieran Payne struck out Hunter Hobbs to end the contest.

Oliver and Davies combined for five no-hit innings on the mound for Southern Hills allowing just one run while striking out 11 batters.

The Warriors will look to improve to 2-0 when they play Brisbane Metro at 8:45am local time on diamond five.

Hills will take on Central Firebirds on diamond seven tomorrow from 2:15pm.

Alonzo Griffin had a big day at the plate as Brisbane North began their 2022 Australian Little League Championship with a 13-2 victory over Twins on diamond five.

Griffin had three hits including a home run and in four runs and the Queensland charter allowed two hits in a first-up win over the Victorian side in Pool A.

Thomas Hill drove in four runs as Southern Mariners kickstarted its 2022 Australian Little League Championship with a 15-0 victory over Newcastle on diamond two.

Hill was one of eight Mariners with an RBI as the Victorian charter blew the game open with a 10-run fourth inning to claim a win in Pool B.

Ashton Campbell threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings to lead Carine Cats to a 9-1 victory over Canberra on the opening day of the 2022 Australian Little League Championship in Macarthur on Wednesday.

Campbell allowed just two hits on the mound in a strong start for the Cats, striking out four batters to help his side claim a win in Pool A action on diamond four.

Northern Territory has made a dramatic return to the 2022 Australian Little League Championship, coming from 12 runs down to defeat Brisbane North 14-13.

NT scored eight runs in the bottom of the fifth, walking off North on Aaron McVeigh’s two-run single.

Ryan Reekie had four hits and struck out six on the mound to help Ryde Hawks open their 2022 Australian Little League Championship campaign with a 9-0 win over Coastal Bay Sharks on Wednesday.

Reekie went 2 1/3 scoreless innings on the mound as the Hawks began their campaign in perfect fashion with a win over the West Australian charter.
