Australian Women’s Baseball Showcase doubleheaders scheduled for Adelaide and Brisbane the next two weekends have been postponed.

Baseball Australia today made the decision for the April 3 and 10 games to be pushed back following Greater Brisbane heading into a three-day lockdown from 5pm due to the latest COVID-19 outbreak.

The historic Australian Women’s Baseball Showcase will take place in early April with games to be played in Adelaide and Brisbane.

It comes after Baseball Australia cancelled the 2021 Australian Women’s Baseball Championship set for Adelaide following a number of states confirming they would not be sending a team due to COVID concerns.

This weekend’s Australian Women’s Baseball Showcase presented by Boral has been postponed due to the escalating COVID-19 situation in Melbourne.

Baseball Australia this morning made the decision to postpone the two games scheduled between the Victoria Aces and Brisbane Bandits at Melbourne Ballpark for Saturday and Sunday as the number of cases in Victoria rose again overnight.

Rosters for the Australian Women’s Baseball Showcase presented by Boral in Melbourne this weekend have been revealed.

A total of 33 players will be split between the Victoria Aces and Brisbane Bandits in the two Showcase games on Saturday and Sunday.

An innovative broadcast-friendly format will be trialled in this weekend’s Australian Women’s Baseball Showcase presented by Boral at Melbourne Ballpark.

Both games between the Victoria Aces and Brisbane Bandits will be split into two three-inning shootouts with a seventh inning tiebreak only playable if the teams split the two shortened contests.
