Baseball Australia places the highest priority on player safety and wellbeing across every level of the game, from grassroots participation through to elite competition. Creating safe, inclusive, and supportive environments is fundamental to the sport’s integrity and long-term success.
This commitment extends beyond physical safety to encompass child protection, mental wellbeing, and respectful behaviour, ensuring every participant can enjoy baseball with confidence. Everyone involved in the game shares responsibility for upholding these standards, so that players—especially young athletes—feel protected, valued, and empowered both on and off the field.
The following resources have been developed to support clubs and volunteers in embedding best-practice safety standards into their everyday operations.
Covering key areas such as child safety, concussion management, equipment standards, pitching guidelines, medical emergencies, social media, and weather conditions, these materials provide practical guidance to help manage risk and promote player welfare. While they are not intended to be used in isolation, they serve as an important framework for building a strong culture of safety, ensuring clubs can confidently prioritise the health and wellbeing of all participants.
